Hope in the face of Difficulties

In recent years i have had encounter with people that have left me with questions than answers. Everyone i happen to meet is keenly looking for reason why we have slow progress in almost every process. In Kenya we have witnessed a terrorism threats from within. This is happening at time when our forces are inside Somalis pursuing the Alshabab militant. Only last Sunday Africa Inland Church was attached at Garrisa. There is a lot of questions from everyone again, we are all asking who did it and what was the reason. I have had long associations with AIC and i truly understand that this is difficult now to the faithful ones continuing their pilgrimage journey in midst of threats such as these one. We wish those that are at hospital quick recovery and comfort to those that were left by their loved ones. We should not retreat in our commitment reaching the lost for Christ even when we are surrounded by these difficulties. Christianity teaches that God is love and that if we dot demonstrate love we don't show him as love. May God be with all that are serving him in difficult terrains. Let us rejoice that God has loved us since the creation of the world. I truly understand that we have worries concerning those that passed away, However Paul inn his letters to1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 give us hope concerning our destiny as believers even after we are dead and this is what he says

¹³ Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. ¹⁴ For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. ¹⁵ According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. ¹⁶ For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. ¹⁷ After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. ¹⁸ Therefore encourage one another with these words.These word spoken by Paul thousands years ago have provided solace and hope to humanity and will continue doing it over and over.

Even as we mourn the departed of our sisters and brothers in Christ, we should focus on God and pray that the Lord would bring unto completion his work among the nomadic people group and that solutions would be founded to address these matters pertaining to the security of the citizens  and that the Government would work hard to protect lives of its citizen even as we seek for justice to this massacre. Its our earnest pray that those behind this merciless killings would be finally be brought into the book of the law and be held accountable. Christianity encourages peaceful coexistence with people of other faiths and throughout its history compassion, humility, peace love and kindness has been the pillars of Christianity and i believe even today faced with these challenges the people of God would be tolerant as we seek to proclaim the goodness of Jesus declaring that he is the only way into a relationship with God. May all those that died rest in Peace until we meet.

The Followers of Christ in Second decade of the millennium: Where do we go from here?
The Church within the 21st century is a church faced with enormous challenges and definite task of continuing the teaching of the sacred writings and dividing it faithfully to the Billions of people who subscribe their membership with the Christianity as a movement. Throughout the history there have been faithful men and women who have consistently lived out the teachings of their master. And today there are threats from within and without and hence millions of Christians are stranded and there is a need to move on and continue the task of reaching humanity for Christ.
However in the beginnings of the millennium Christianly and its adherents have grappled and faced real challenges that has caused its leaders to rethink and redefined their strategies’ of reaching the lost for Christ and discipline the converts to take the gospel across nations. From the America to Asia, through Africa, Middle East and unto the nations there are new challenges that believers are encountering within their lines of ministry.
One of the pressings needs of the church today and demand immediate approach is to continue preaching and teaching the authentic, Biblical, experiential gospel of our savior and boldly declaring that in the 2,000 years of history since our Lord ascended the gospel has not yet changed and has remained “the power of God unto salvation” and any attempt to make it conform unto the pattern, culture and lifestyle of the 21st century would be doomed to fail as its power to radically change and transform lives goes beyond these developments.

Secondly we must together seek to recover a sense of wholeness of the Evangelical faith, even when there are mushrooming movements that clearly seek to deny that salvation is only found in the person of Jesus Christ, accuracy of scriptures and assumption that the return of Jesus Christ is fictions in its reality. Our evangelical faith should disassociate itself with futile attempt that seek the Unity of Humanity without understanding the sinful nature that human beings find themselves in without God. As church leaders entrusted with passing over the truth of that faith, teachers, believers and zealous followers of the savior and finally as loyal citizens of the eternal kingdom of God we must practice the Lordship of Jesus in its wholeness over our service both to God and humanity

Transformational Approach For the Church in Africa in the new millenium

The transformation of Africa will require multifaceted efforts that utilize diverse instruments. Africa’s transformation cannot be achieved by addressing a few selected problems.
To be effective our approach to transformation has to be holistic.
We have the following approaches toward transformation of our continent.The first are the pessimists, who see the problems of Africa so intricately and permanently tied to Africa that they do not really believe in change initiatives. The second are the optimists, who see the potential of Africa, mainly in terms of her natural resources, and believe change is possible.
As believers of Jesus Christ in our continent we must clearly identifies our-self with the group of optimists as we suppose that Africa’s economic fortunes could turn around with the positive and effective management of her God-given resources
As we travel toward holistic transformed Africa there are three causes of conflicts: internal, external and the impact or cost of conflicts. It is the firm conviction of Therefore without peace peace and stability there can be no dream, hope, or development.
To promote peace and stability, African leaders need to develop character and master the skills necessary for conflict resolution. We must be challenged to review useful approaches to conflict resolution. We believe that, visionary leadership, peaceful leadership, protecting leadership, responsible leadership, and skillful leadership are needed for our continent if we are to progress and contribute meaningful development toward total transformation Africa.
